#PinkBeetle Gets its Own Hashtag

In an effort to hop on the social media train, as well as market to consumers whose favorite colors are “blush” or “bashful,” VW announced that a #PinkBeetle will have a limited production run in 2017. First unveiled as a concept vehicle in 2015, #PinkBeetle is coated with a Fresh Fuschia Metallic paint and adorned with a stunning interior trim package that definitely makes it the hottest Beetle in town. #PinkBeetle will only be available in limited quantities, so it’s wise to inquire at Chapman VW Scottsdale now about the possibility of securing one of these collector items.

Comes in Convertible or Coupe

#PinkBeetle will come in either a convertible or coupe, powered by a 1.8L turbocharged engine that produces 170 horsepower. Expect the #PinkBeetle to be a trending topic on Twitter when it finally comes for sale, as the paint job is set off with glossy black mirror caps and running boards. Seventeen-inch alloy multi-spoke wheels add a little flair for the coupe. The convertible sports 18-inch Twister wheels that have five spokes. Both models come with LED running lights and taillights, as well as Bi-Xenon headlights.

Black and Pink Dresses up Interior

The interior of the new #PinkBeetle has a black dashpad that’s enhanced with a pink accent. Pink Club seats are similar to the plaid seats that come with the GTI, except these have pinstriping with a pink hue instead of the traditional red. The new #PinkBeetle comes with VW’s MIB II entertainment and communication system. With App-Connect technology, you can take advantage of a limited number of apps from your phone by using Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or MirrorLink. Make hands-free phone calls, respond to text messages or stream your favorite audio books or music with ease. The MIB II infotainment system has an integrated sensor that knows when your hand is near the 6.3-inch touchscreen. It automatically changes the menu to allow easy selection of different features. Keyless access, push-button start, a rearview mirror and heated front seats are some other standard equipment of the #PinkBeetle.

No Price Announced Yet

Although the price tag for the new #PinkBeetle has not yet been announced, you can get a new Beetle now from Chapman VW Scottsdale with a starting MSRP of under $20,000. That’s a small price to pay for an iconic vehicle that gets 34 mpg and offers an unlimited amount of fun.

VW on Fast Track to Generate EVs

Now on a quick pace to produce electric vehicles of all shapes and sizes, Volkswagen is considering the use of the MEB (modular electric kit) platform that uses a flat floor battery as the underpinning for larger vehicles, such as the much talked about new Bus. Although you shouldn’t expect any electric busses to show up on the showroom floor at your Scottsdale Volkswagen dealer, Chapman Volkswagen, for at least a couple of years, the MEB platform is much more scalable than other chassis systems. VW can easily adjust the length and width of the vehicle, as well as the position of the seats. VW says that electric vehicles don’t have to be as large as comparable gas powered cars since the lack of a driveshaft tunnel automatically creates more room.

e-Golf Delivers 126 MPGe

Volkswagen already offers one of the best electric vehicles on the market with the e-Golf. This sporty little hatchback has a range of 83 miles per charge, much more than the average two-way commute. The 115-horsepower electric motor delivers almost 200 pound feet of torque, or enough to make you sit up straight and notice as it merges onto a freeway. Three different driving modes let you pick between power and maximum efficiency, while three different regenerative braking modes charge up the battery to keep you going strong.

Charge at Home, on the Road or at VW Dealership

Most people choose to charge their e-Golf at home with the available 240V quick charge setup, but there are more than 22,000 charging points available out on the open road. You can also choose to charge your VW at Chapman VW Scottsdale, or any other dealership. The e-Golf comes in two different trim levels, starting with the SE. The SE still has a number of standard features, including keyless access, push button start and a touchscreen infotainment system. The SEL Premium model adds LED headlights, an onboard charger and touchscreen navigation.

Jetta Hybrid Scores 48 MPG

If you’re in a rush for a fuel-efficient vehicle, look no further than the Jetta Hybrid. This mid-size sedan has plenty of seating for five adults and delivers 48 mpg on the highway. Bi-Xenon headlights, touchscreen navigation and park distance control are all standard features. The Jetta Hybrid is powered by a combination electric engine and 150-horsepower gas motor.
