VW Takes Aim at Compact SUV Market

With a longer wheelbase that creates more interior space for both cargo and people, the 2018 VW Tiguan is painting a bullseye on the American compact SUV market. One of the main complaints of the compact SUVs is that they are, well, small. Although they technically will hold four to five adults, riding in the back seat sometimes requires the ability of a contortionist to adapt to the space. The new VW Tiguan is almost 11 inches longer than the previous version, creating more leg room and giving the ability for adults to enter and exit the rear seating area without folding themselves in half. See the new Tiguan for yourself when it comes to Chapman Volkswagen later this summer.

Evolution of Timeless Design Delivers Refined Appearance

The first thing you’re sure to like about the new VW Tiguan is the sophisticated appearance that shows off modern lines and a sculptured, muscular look. The use of a new platform allows for a lower and wider stance, creating both a dynamic driving experience due to the low center of gravity and a design that turns heads. All the trim packages include LED running lights, LED taillights and fog lights that illuminate the way around corners. Heated exterior mirrors include turn signal indicators. Both the S and SE trim package come with 17-inch wheels. When you step up to the SEL model you get 18-inch wheels, while the SEL Premium and R-Line packages come with 19-inch wheels.

Versatile Seating Sets Tiguan Apart

Slide into the driver’s seat of the new VW Tiguan and you’ll be impressed by the thoughtful layout of all the controls. Everything’s within an easy reach, allowing you to focus on the road rather than look at how to turn the volume up on the radio. All the front wheel drive Tiguan models have three rows of seats. The second row is the result of some clever engineering that allows it to recline, slide forwards and backwards, fold completely down or split 40/20/40. This not only makes entering the third row easier, but makes for quick configuration when hauling large or awkward items.

MBII Infotainment System Offers Tons of Features

VW’s MBII infotainment system offers the most comprehensive grouping of features available from any automaker. It comes standard in every VW Tiguan with a number of different multimedia interfaces, Bluetooth connectivity and a rearview camera. From the SE model on up, buyers will receive a glass 8-inch touchscreen with at least two USB ports, a JPG viewer and SiriusXM subscription that’s free for three months. Choose the SEL Premium package and you’ll get a premium Fender audio system that delivers 480 watts through a 12-channel amplifier.

Comes with 6-year Warranty

One of the best features of the new VW Tiguan, and the item that shows the company’s confidence in this new product, is a 6-year, 72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. That’s three more years and double the miles of coverage from most competitors. Stay in touch with Chapman Volkswagen to see when the new Tiguan will be available for a test drive.
